Frequently Asked Questions
How do I set up and guide the pulling rope safely?
The puller coupling must be locked into conduit. The rope must wrap properly around the capstan, start at the housing end; to help avoid rope overlap, rope should approach capstan at 90˚ angle. A tailing roller redirects the rope so the operator stands clear. These steps help prevent rope slippage, damage, or dangerous whip back. Always be sure to refer to the Operating, Maintenance, Safety and Parts Manual that comes with your puller.
What safety devices are included?
Current Tools pullers include features such as force gauges, anti-reverse pawls, circuit breakers, and built-in safety rollers. These enhancements allow operators to monitor tension and respond to overloads efficiently.
What pulling capacities do Current Tools’ cable pullers offer?
Current Tools' cable pullers handle systems rated from 1000 lbs. to 10,000 lbs. We offer single speed and two-speed pullers, with reverse on some models. Our two-speed units allow you to switch between fast mode for light pulls and low-speed for heavy, long, or difficult runs, making them versatile for diverse pull scenarios.
