If you give it to John Henry, it’s as good as done.
A native of Gastonia, North Carolina, John Henry has been with Current Tools since its earliest days.
Though his first name is John, and his last name is Henry, you’ll hear him called by his first and last names multiple times a day, in the office or on the shop floor.
John Henry met Current Tools founder John Scovil while working for a reconditioned tool company that Mr. Scovil owned in Simpsonville.
Mr. Scovil eventually sold that company, but the two men reconnected a few years later when Mr. Scovil was preparing to open Current Tools and brought John Henry aboard as general manager. Like many other members of the Current Tools team, John has more than two decades with the company.
He has been an integral part of growing Current Tools from a small company that made just one product, a conduit bender, to the international company it is now, producing more than 100 different tools for the professional electrician.
He attributes much of the company’s success to its customer service and to its focus on American-made products designed and manufactured by employees who live and work near the 200,000-square-foot Current Tools facility in Upstate, South Carolina.
Keeping the business at home in Greenville is a point of pride for John Henry.
John is also proud of the company’s focus on customer service and technical support. If a customer has a question about a product, they can call Current Tools and speak to a team member that can help them, rather than pressing an endless series of buttons on the phone.
He lives and breathes the company philosophy of taking care of the customer first. He understands that for a contractor on a job site, time is money, and he’ll do everything in his power to get you up and running as quickly and efficiently as possible.
You’ll often hear people in the office say, “If you give it to John Henry, it’s as good as done.”
John and his wife have two children. John graduated from University of North Carolina at Wilmington, but his wife and kids are Clemson alums, so they all love Clemson football. John also enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing, golf, and hunting.
